  1. I have about 200 photos covering around 10 different events, such as family reunion, last year's vacation etc. I want to make an SVCD of my photos wherein I can go directly to photos of any particular event, without having to scroll through all 200 when I play them on my new DVD player (JVC XV-N40BK).
I've spent several hours looking through "how-to's" and have tried using VCDEasy and Nero 5.5.10.7 without success. I have yet to find a guide that addresses my problem in terms that I can follow. With the help of Baldrick's tutorial, I was able to produce and play a VCD, or CD-R, of the unsorted photos, using Nero, however.
Despite being genuinely impressed by the depth of knowledge and well-meaning efforts displayed, (and freely offered), at DVDR Help, I am beginning to wonder if expertise in this field precludes the ability to communicate it to dummies.
I will be eternally indebted to anyone who can direct me SIMPLE help.

  2. That depends on what your definition of "simple" is If you have a clear understanding of how VCDEasy's menu and interactivity work, it's really not that complicated. I will design a title screen, several menu screens, which will be linked to groups of still photos.

  3. Thank you for your interest, Poplar.
I do not have a clear understanding of VCDEasy and interactivity, unfortunately, but I can follow an example. I guess that is what I meant by "simple".
My criticism of the previous instructions I have tried to follow comes from frustration at not finding any examples of how to accomplish a task for which, I imagine, many newbies like myself have purchased their hardware/software.
I look forward to your assistance. Please don't be concerned about making it too simple. In this arena, my humility knows no bounds.

  4. One way, although painstaking, would be to make chapter pages in Photoshop or anotehr image editor, and put small thumbnails of your pics on those pages. label them 1 thru x (x=however many pics per chapter page), and then in vcdeasy make them MPEGs and there are guides on how to assign number keys to different sequences/pics.
